This explains what MatchSetGo collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. In plain terms: we collect what we need to set up your account and help you find someone to do an activity with. We don't sell your information.

What we collect

Your account

Username — how people find and add you. This is public to other members.
Email address — for your account. Hidden from other members unless you choose to share it.
Password — stored only as a cryptographic hash. We can't read it.
Date of birth — used to check you're old enough to use MatchSetGo (18+).

Your profile

First and last name, if you add them. Hidden from other members unless you choose to share them.
A short bio, if you write one.
A profile photo, if you upload one.
Your general location — see Location below.
Favourite activities — up to three, so the app can suggest them when you post.

What you do on MatchSetGo

Invitations you post, and ones you accept.
Messages you send in an invitation's chat.
Friends you add, and people you block.
Reports you file about another member.

Your device

A notification token, if you allow notifications — an anonymous identifier for your device, so we can tell you when someone accepts your invitation or sends a message. Turn notifications off and we stop using it.
Standard server logs — your IP address, request times, and app version, generated by our hosting layer and used for troubleshooting and preventing abuse. Your IP is also used briefly, in memory, to rate-limit certain requests; it isn't stored in our database.

What we deliberately don't collect. We don't ask for your gender, your phone number, or your contacts. We don't track you across other apps or websites. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The mobile app doesn't use cookies at all — your sign-in is a token held in your device's secure storage.

Location

MatchSetGo is about finding someone nearby, so it needs a rough idea of where you are. We deliberately ask your device for low-accuracy location — around one kilometre. That's all the app needs to match a city, a neighbourhood, or "near you" over a few miles, and it means we never hold your precise position.

When you set your location or post an invitation, your device turns those coordinates into a place name (like a city or neighbourhood) using your phone's built-in location service — Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android. That lookup is handled by your device's operating system under its own privacy policy.

You can change your location any time in the app, and you can refuse the location permission outright — the app will simply ask you to try again rather than work around you.

How we use it

To run MatchSetGo: showing you invitations near you, showing yours to other members, delivering your messages, sending the notifications you asked for, keeping your account secure, and responding to safety reports. That's it. We don't sell your information.

What other members can see

Your username, your profile photo, your bio, and the general area of your invitations are visible to other members — that's how the app works.

Your first name, last name, and email are hidden by default. You can choose to share each one from Settings → Privacy in the app.

People you block can't see your invitations or reach you, and you won't see theirs. Blocking is not announced to them.

Who else is involved

We don't sell your information. We share it only with the services we need to run the app:

Your choices

Edit your profile — change or clear your name, bio, photo, and location any time.
Control what's shared — the toggles in Settings → Privacy.
Turn off notifications — in the app or in your phone's settings.
Block or report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
Delete your account — see below.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account in the app. It's immediate and it can't be undone. If you've already uninstalled the app, see how to request deletion.

What's deleted: your profile, name, photo, bio, location, date of birth, sign-in details, friends, blocks, favourite activities, settings, and notification tokens. Your photo file is deleted from our server, not just unlinked.

What we keep, and why:

Messages you sent	A conversation belongs to both people. Erasing your half would destroy the other person's record of a conversation they took part in. Your messages remain, shown as "Deleted user".
Invitations you posted that someone accepted	So the person who accepted keeps their plans and their chat. They stop appearing in Discover — nobody new can find them.
Safety reports involving your account	So deleting an account can't be used to escape a report. This is what keeps the safety system honest.

These retained records no longer identify you: the account they point to has had its personal details erased.

How long we keep things

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete it, the above happens immediately. Server logs are short-lived and used only for troubleshooting and abuse prevention.

Age

MatchSetGo is for adults. You must be at least 18 to create an account, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to ask for a copy of it. You can do most of this in the app directly. For anything else — including a copy of your data — email matchsetgo@gmail.com and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we'll ask you to review and accept the new version next time you sign in. Small edits — typos, clarifications — just update the date at the top.
